Electricity
The City of Gallup provides electricity to the Gallup area
with power purchased from Public Service Company of New
Mexico. Rates for commercial and industrial users are as
follows:
Residential
Service
Energy Charge
First 50 kWh is included in the service charge
All other kWh - $0.0739 per kWh
Minimum charge (service charge): $5.00 (includes 50 kWh) plus
fuel adjustment charge.
General Service –
Small
(Non-residential) rate is available for single and
three-phase service for non-residential service. Customers
with consumption of 40,000 kWh or more per month or a demand
of 100 kW or more for any three months during a twelve month
continuous period will not be provided service under this
rate.
Energy Charge
First 100 kWh – included in service charge
All others kWh - $0.0799 per kWh
Minimum Charge: $10.00 (Includes 100 kWh) plus fuel adjustment
charge.
General Service – Medium
(Non-residential) rate is available for single and
three-phase service to all customers whose use is not less
than 40,000 kWh per month or 100 kWh per month for three
months in any twelve month continuous period. No service will
be provided under this rate for any customers whose demand
equals or exceeds 1500 kWh per month. Monthly Rate Demand
Charge: First 100 kW or less - $1,050.00; Additional demand:
$10.50 per kW
Energy Charge
All energy at $0.0438 per kWh;
Minimum charge: Demand Charge of 100 kW.
Industrial Rate
Rate is available to all customers whose demand is
equal to or greater than 1500 kW of capacity per month.
Service may be metered at the city’s available distribution
voltage of 13,200 volts (primary metered). Rates will be
considered on a case by case basis.
Outdoor Area
Lighting
The monthly charge (plus fuel cost adjustment) for:
175 Watt, Sodium Vapor - $5.25; 250 Watt, Sodium Vapor -
$12.00; 400 Watt, Sodium Vapor - $15.00; 1000 Watt, Sodium
Vapor - $25.00. A minimum charge is imposed and said charge is
equal to 12 months service.
Fuel Adjustment
Charge
Fuel adjustment will be made on all energy sales.
This fuel charge will be added or subtracted to base energy
charge. The fuel charge will be that amount which is charged
by the city’s electrical supplier during previous billings.
Billing will be done on a kWh basis. To prevent swings in
customer billings the fuel rate will be set for a projected
rate of a six (6) month basis with the city to have the option
of changing to a quarterly basis if deemed to be necessary.
Natural Gas
Natural gas is provided by Public Service Company of New
Mexico Electric and Gas Services.
Small
Volume – General Service
Availability Service under this Rate is
available to any customer whose primary business activity at
the location served is not provided for under any other Rate
and whose usage in any year is less than 200,000 therms. This
Rate shall include churches and multi-unit residential
structures in which each unit is intended for year-round
occupancy by an individual family group.
Territory
All the Company’s service areas.
Rates
Basic Cost of Service Functional Rates: During each
monthly billing period, the rate for all gas delivered shall
be:
$0.0537 per therm for transmission service; and
-
$0.0514 per therm for distribution service.
The above rates shall be charged based on the functional
services utilized by each customer.
Cost of Gas Component
The basic rates for cost of service set forth above shall
be increased or reduced, as appropriate, by the amount of the
Cost of Gas Component for the billing month computed in
accordance with the provisions of Rate Rider Nos. 4, 8, and 9.
Access Fee
In addition to rates for gas delivered, each customer
served under this Rate shall pay an Access Fee of $13.50 per
month.
Special Rate Adjustment
The rates set forth above shall be increased or reduced by
the amounts indicated, as applicable to each particular area
of service in the Special Rate Riders approved by the New
Mexico Public Utility Commission.
Medium Volume –
General Service
Availability
Service under this Rate is available to any customer whose
primary business activity at the location served is not
provided for under any other Rate and whose usage in any year
is 200,000 therms or greater and less than 2,000,000 therms.
Territory
All the Company’s service areas.
Basic Cost of Service Functional Rates
During each monthly billing period, the rate for all gas
delivered shall be
$0.0429 per therm for transmission service; and
-
$0.0445 per therm for distribution service.
The above rates shall be charged based on the functional
services utilized by each customer.
Cost of Gas Component
The basic rates for cost of service set forth above shall
be increased or reduced, as appropriate, by the amount of the
Cost of Gas Component for the billing month computed in
accordance with the provisions of Rate Rider Nos. 4, 8, and 9.
Access Fee
In addition to rates for gas delivered, each customer
served under this Rate shall pay an Access Fee of $60.00 per
month
Special Rate Adjustment
The rates set forth above shall be increased or reduced by
the amounts indicated, as applicable to each particular area
of service in the Special Rate Riders approved by the New
Mexico Public Utility Commission.
Large Volume –
General Service
Availability
Service under this Rate is available to any customer whose
primary business activity at the location served is not
provided for under any other Rate and whose usage in any year
is 2,000,000 therms or greater.
Rates
Basic Cost of Service Functional Rates: During each
monthly billing period, the rate for all gas delivered shall
be:
$0.0336 per therm for transmission service; and
-
$0.0312 per therm for distribution service.
The above rates shall be charged based on the functional
services utilized by each customer.
Cost of Gas Component
The basic rates for cost of service set forth above shall
be increased or reduced, as appropriate, by the amount of the
Cost of Gas Component for the billing month computed in
accordance with the provisions of Rate Rider Nos. 4, 8, and 9.
Access Fee
In addition to rates for gas delivered, each customer
served under this Rate shall pay an Access Fee of $800.00 per
month.
Special Rate Adjustment
The rates set forth above shall be increased or reduced by
the amounts indicated, as applicable to each particular area
of service in the Special Rate Riders approved by the New
Mexico Public Utility Commission.
Water Rates
For all Metered Residential Service – a monthly
commodity charge of:
Zero to 1000 cubic feet - $0.012323 per cubic foot
1001 to 2000 cubic feet - $0.015929 per cubic foot
2001 to 5000 cubic feet - $0.017130 per cubic foot
Over 500 cubic feet - $0.018333 per cubic foot
For all Metered Commercial Service and Service to the City
of Gallup – a monthly commodity charge of $0.015929 per
cubic foot.
For Un metered Water Sales – a charge of $4.57 per
1,000 gallons.
For Residential Service Where There is no More Than One
Residence Per Meter of Not More Than Two (2") Inches in
Size – a monthly service charge of $5.48.
For all Other Services
(including residential service when one meter services
more than one residence or the meter is larger than two inches
(2") in size) – a monthly service charge of: 5/8 inch
meter - $5.48; one inch meter - $11.26; 1.5 inch meter -
$20.28; two inch meter - $30.06; three inch meter - $56.35;
four inch meter - $90.16.
For service outside the city limits the water rate shall be
twice that for service inside the city limits.
Wastewater Charges
The residential rate is applicable to one water meter per
residence no larger than two inches (2"). Monthly rate:
Service Charge - $2.48; Volume charge - $0.008416 per cubic
foot of average monthly water metered during previous months
of January, February and March.
All other services: Monthly rate: Service charge based on
water meter size: 5/8 inch meter - $2.48; one inch meter -
$4.51; 1.5 inch meter - $7.89; two inch meter - $19.15; four
inch meter - $31.56. Volume charge: $0.008416 per cubic foot
of current month’s water service.
For service outside the city limits the wastewater rate
shall be twice that for service inside the city limits. All
rates in this ordinance will become effective for all billings
rendered on and after July 1, 1998.
Telephone Service
Qwest Communications
