The airport is owned and operated by the City of Gallup, and will soon be certified under FAR part 139.  The airport is located three miles west of downtown Gallup.  Airline service at the airport is provided by Great Lakes Airlines.  There are 4 flights daily with direct service to Phoenix and Denver.  Connecting flights allow a Gallup customer to reach any destination in the world.  Federal Express provides daily overnight express service.  Other air freight transportation is available.

Trained weather observers provide weather information 24 hours a day.  The paved 7300’ runway has medium intensity lighting and REILs, and is able to accommodate corporate jets, turbo prop and commuter aircraft.

There are approximately 50 aircraft based at the Gallup Municipal Airport, most of which are hangared.  Gallup Flying Service provides air taxi, air ambulance, flight training and sight seeing tours.  There is a car rental agency located at the airport.  The airport covers 359 acres and land is available for commercial development.
